Character study 03
It is Monday again and here we are, ready for another week of Nihongo studies!
I wonder, if you pass the JPLT4 does it mean that you can speak to natives on a sactifatory level? If anyone there has the JPLT4 could you answer please?
Well, let's get busy right way. Remember I highly suggest that you take more vocabulary per week, maybe three times more than we do here. Here we have other worries, like grammar, and I can't be typing vocabulary everyday (I wish I could tough).
This week words are:
誕生日 たんじょうび Birthday
勤める つとめる To work (in a company)
買う かう To buy
売る うる To sell
仕事 しごと Work/occupation
学校 がっこう School
名前 なまえ Name
食堂 しょくどう Canteen/restaurant/cafeteria
咲く さく To bloom (flowers)
背広 せびろ Business suit in Japan
天気 てんき Weather
生まれる うまれる To be born
意味 いみ Meaning
片仮名 かたかな Katakana
入れる いれる To put in
涼しい すずしい Cool (temperature)
食べ物 たべもの Food
静か しずか Quiet
Remember to pratice more than once a day writting these words so you can get used to kanji, ok? I usually read it once and write them again 4-5 times during the day. I'm preparing some pdf files with words so you can pratice on a daily basis. I don't when they will be done tough.

Well, I have the JLPT4 and seriously... No.
I mean, it's enough for you to survive, talk with other people about common subjects and this kind of simple tasks. But you are just unable to keep deep conversations and it's totally impossible to read a real text. I mean, seriously. Maybe you can read a child book written with furigana in it. Maybe. But even them become hard sometimes, because these books are full of onomatopoeias and other things that you only understand if you are a japanese kid...
But it isn't like JLPT4 is useless, I can understand many japanese websites, read some mangás, and, as I sad, keep simple talks.
JLPT4 is the way, but not even near the end.
Well, this is my opinion about JLPT4, if anyone else has more to say, I would really apreciate it. ^^

Bota weird nisso, heheheh. Mas é para a audiência (que deve ser brasileira também) entender que estamos usando o inglês hehe.

Well, that was what I feared. I thought about it while trying to read the Wikipedia's article about chocolate in Nihongo. It was reallly hard, and I needed the dictionary a lot!
I guess there is no scape, this blog will become a blog for JPLT4, then for JLPT3, then JLPT2 and then JLPT1 (ok, this sounds like overkill hehehe)
To infinity, and beyond!
And after JLPT1, let's aim at Kanken 1!!! (Ok, ok, even dreams have limits)
Also, I was going to say and forgot:
It's easy when you are reading a hard text in a computer, to copy words that you don´t know and paste on a dictionary; but try it with printed ones, it's tiring LIKE HELL, I mean, you can't just search words written in kanji without furigana in a printed dictionary. You must see each kanji individually, get the readings, guess the whole word reading and THEN search the word, that may be with a wrong reading... Seriously, it's frustrating.
Yea, I know how hard it is. Recently I bought some books on some site in the Internet, the books are in Japanese... really hard. I had two options. First, trying to remember the chinese lessons I had about using the dictionary, they are similar. Second and most effective, on Linux you may use Kanjipad. You draw the kanji and it identifies =). I'm gonna post on it this Saturday.
漢字を調べたいなら、一番いいのは電子辞書だと思う。高いけど。
「勤める」という動詞は「どこかに勤める」だ。だから、「ブローカーに勤めるつもりです。」になる。
そして、「安く売ります」。
ごめん、あたし日本語が下手だから、説明しにくくなる。
